Using a strengths-based approach, the Family Reconnect Worker will provide individualized support and client centered therapy to persons who have been referred to and accepted under the criteria for the HPRR Program in order to prevent homelessness and provide rapid rehousing.
We are seeking a Housing Support Case Manager to provide support within the Outreach and Youth Engagement program. This individual will report to the Program Coordinator and together, will work to ensure effective program delivery related to homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing.
The CFY Momma Moments program is looking for volunteers! Momma Moments program currently operates group sessions in St. John’s and Conception Bay South. Each group meets once each week for two hours, with child minding provided for children and a hearty meal for all.

Every summer for the past 10 years, Choices for Youth has put together a dynamic and supportive recreation program for at-risk youth in St. John’s.
The goal – to engage young people in recreation activities, help youth build community relationships, desist from illegal activity and establish positive and effective coping strategies.

There are specific items that we as humans need in life in order to survive. The most basic of these needs are food and water, with warmth, rest, safety and security following closely behind. The fact that there is a huge shortage of safe and affordable housing within our city, province, and country becomes more alarming as we realize that people’s basic human needs are not being met. As a result there are clear impacts on the health and well being of people, as well as the associated cost and effect that this has on systemic supports. A Way Home Canada, which is a national coalition of individuals and organizations from across Canada who are invested in ending homelessness, has created a report calling on the Federal Government to create a National Housing Strategy that would result in incredible benefits for individuals and families across our country.
Our Momma Moments program recently went camping at Castle Hill National Historic Site thanks to the Learn to Camp program with Parks Canada. Over 50 moms and children took part in this great initiative and learned a lot about camping, the outdoors, and themselves.
