Celebrating Summer with a Staff Fun Day

Updated: Sep 16, 2021

With the last long weekend of Summer making its appearance, Choices for Youth (CFY) recognizes the importance of not only Labour day, but the positive impact of CFY staff. Labour day is an opportunity for us to recognize the work that our staff does on a daily basis, and also to celebrate our staff!

In recognition of Labour day, we're sharing highlights from our Staff Fun Day organized by our Live Well Committee and held in July. The CFY Live Well Committee is a group of CFY staff that are dedicated to making CFY a fun place to work, and creating opportunities for staff to come together and connect.

Due to the pandemic, it's been almost two years since our entire CFY staff team were able to gather together in-person. There's been new faces, new programming and services, and lots of updates to share for our team. What perfect way to build connections face-to-face than a BBQ and games on a hot sunny day?! Staff were encouraged to bring blankets, board games and lots of sunscreen to enjoy the afternoon.

CFY employees over 100 staff, and we're all connected through the same goal: to support young people to set and achieve their goals.

The Staff Fun Day was an opportunity to come together as an organization and rebuild connections after a challenging year. Folks were able to reflect together on the important work we're doing to support young people, take time to laugh and have conversations with other staff teams that they've only seen virtually for many months, and just enjoy the beautiful NL weather with friends.

Thank-you to all staff who participated, Red Oak Catering and Bowring Park for making the day such a success. We can't wait to meet up again!

All COVID-19 regulations and protocols were in place and followed during the event by both CFY and Red Oak staff.
