With a focus on prevention, intervention, and support, we help youth and their families break cycles of poverty and homelessness and transition to healthy, stable, and independent lives.


Crust is a Choices for Youth Social Enterprise and we are seeking to hire one (1) Barista and Retail Supervisor to manage our new bakery storefront. At Crust we celebrate diversity and offer a safe, inclusive workspace while offering hands-on work experience in our Bakery and Coffee shop.


Becoming a supervisor at Choices for Youth Social Enterprise means learning something new every day. We offer a dynamic workspace that provides the opportunity to learn rewarding skills supporting the work experience of at-risk youth. The successful applicant should be comfortable working as a team lead and have exceptional communication skills.


Reporting to the Food and Operations Manager, the Barista and Retail Supervisor will oversee the front end of the store and be responsible for monitoring food sales, coffee service, and the hands-on customer service training with young people to develop effective retail skills and providing mentorship while working collaboratively with the Employment, Education, and Social Enterprise teams.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Overseeing Trainees and helping them connect with appropriate support as needed

· Maintaining quality of coffee and all food & beverages served

· Ensuring all shop tasks, operations, and general store maintenance are being completed

· Signing off on completed cash logs

· Monitoring social media, phone, and email accounts

· Training of Crust Trainees


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

· Previous experience in the food and beverage retail

· Experience in P.O.S systems and handling cash

· Knowledge of coffee and an asset

· Understanding of popular social media platforms

· Comfortable working with the public

· Interest in working with youth

· Previous retail experience required


COMPENSATION

The hourly salary for this position will be $16.00 per hour.


WORK HOURS

Regular hours of work for this position are (35-40 hours per week). Flexibility in work hours may be required to accommodate higher work volumes and organizational requirements.
