Call for Board Member with CPA Designation

Updated: Sep 15, 2021

Choices for Youth continues to demonstrate its commitment to youth and vulnerable families through a strategic vision that focuses on innovation and impactful programming to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. Delivering for our community in this way requires dedicated staff and volunteers who understand that being a part of our organization is more than just a job, it is a vocation where people show up because they believe social justice is critical to the inclusive community we all want to live in.

As we are currently recruiting for new Board members to join our committed and passionate team, we hope this message resonates with members of our community who have skills and expertise to help lead us in delivering on this ambition for our community. If you have a deep commitment to social justice and are eager to contribute to a vibrant and inclusive Newfoundland and Labrador, then this opportunity could be for you. At this time, we are seeking skilled leaders from across the province with expertise in accounting. Individuals applying should have a CPA designation, and should be prepared to assume duties as Board Treasurer upon acceptance to the Board.

The potential for CFY and our Board is vast, and we are seeking folks with innovative skill sets and knowledge to bolster our team -- share your entrepreneurial acumen to accelerate our commitment to social enterprise as a tool for impactful training and employment; utilize your real estate development expertise to enhance our supportive affordable housing portfolio; dig in to assist with fundraising efforts through your networks; or help explore social finance as a mechanism for funding impactful work in the future – if you have a passion for creating positive change, then Choices for Youth would love to have you as part of our team.

What can you expect? You can expect to be a part of the Choices community where you feel the passion of what it takes to inspire others, to have an innovative spirit focused on what it means to make a difference in your community. You can also expect to be engaged in highly professional dialogue for the successful operation of a multi-faceted leading non-profit – not just in Newfoundland and Labrador, but also across Canada and globally. -Sheldon Pollett, Executive Director & Steve Power, Chair of the Board
