Choices for Youth (CFY) and our CFY training team have an exciting opportunity for youth, starting this June!
CFY has two paid training programs for youth aged 16-29 who are interested in taking the next step towards their goals! If you're working towards entering the workforce or applying for post-secondary then this opportunity might be right for you!
What makes these programs unique? CFY skills training programs provide wrap-around supports for participants and helps young people address barriers they may be experiencing.
Meet our Youth Ventures Coordinator, Alex!
This summer, our Youth Ventures joint program is aiming to introduce youth to the world of entrepreneurship. We will explore what it looks like to start, operate and promote a small business within the safety net of employment and a risk-free environment. Various aspects of our core curriculum will also be implemented to help equip our youth with employability and life skills.
As an Education student [in post-secondary] and longtime supporter of CFY, I am excited to get started and explore the fast-paced world of entrepreneurship with young people.
Youth Ventures: 6-week program
Explore entrepreneurship with the CFY skills team! Are you looking to work for yourself or turn your ideas into a business?
This program will introduce you to brainstorming, business plans, branding, marketing, and more.
Follow Youth Ventures on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube to stay up-to-date on youth opportunities!
Customer Experience: 3-week program
Do you know of any youth who want to work in a retail setting, but unsure if it’s a good fit for them?
This program will help youth build confidence when serving customers, learn how to use point of sale software, and other career skills.
After successful completion of the Customer Experience program, youth will be eligible to apply for supported employment at Neighbourhood, CFY’s social enterprise thrift boutique.
